I am very happy, first time in a week with no new snow on the cars!
I like to make lists of unrelated objects then leave them in shopping carts for other people to find just so they can wonder what the list-maker was planning...
Go look at guns, M'Lady?
Meanwhile in Dundalk, MD which is just outside of Baltimore City and has the unfortunate state stereotype of being the "White trash capital of Maryland" this happened this week... further underlining that stereotype...
Dundalk man charged with attempted murder after barricading self in house over grilled cheese dispute
A Dundalk man was taken into custody Sunday following an hours-long standoff with police that began when his wife took a bite from his grilled cheese sandwich, police said.
The incident began around 5 p.m. in the 7100 block of E. Baltimore St. The man's wife told police she had been making dinner in the kitchen when her husband fired a shot up through the floor while he was in the basement. The man, identified Monday as Daniel Brian Blackwell, 55, was angry at her because she had taken a bite from his grilled cheese sandwich, police said.
The wife went into the basement, where she saw Blackwell surrounded by guns and ammo, according to police. He briefly came upstairs, then went back into the basement and fired three more shots up through the basement floor, near where the wife was standing, police said.
The woman fled the house along with three teenagers, and police tactical teams responded. Blackwell, who was wearing a holster of ammunition around his waist, surrendered around 8:30 p.m., police said. Officers subdued him with pepper balls and was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Police later found a loaded, lever-action long gun with a chambered round placed just inside the front door. Police said he is in custody at a hospital pending an emergency evaluation.
Blackwell was charged with first and second-degree attempted murder and related charges. No attorney was listed for him in court records.
Police said Blackwell is not legally allowed to own guns because of prior assault convictions. Fifteen guns, four of them loaded, were found inside the home, police said.
That's a thought. Not sure if I want to go by myself or drag Hubby along with me. Sometimes I hate going shopping with him.
In the meantime, I've gotten laundry going, vacuumed and swept, now I need to take a break before washing dishes. My knee is screaming at me and my back isn't much happier.
What a dipstick! 15 guns and only 4 loaded ? What was he thinking?
I'm betting by now he is wishing he had given her the whole sandwich and maybe a couple more! I can't believe what some will go to war over . Back in the 90's a argument ended with one brother dead by the others gun over a pair of socks. People need to get a clue about life and living .
I heard about this and the thought that went through my head isn't fit for public viewing other than "You have GOT to be kidding me!!"
I had an excellent dental checkup today!
I found out today that it takes two women to run a forklift just to unload a 150 lb skid from my pickup. One to try and drive it and one to give her directions.
Now that the snow has stopped they ran the plows to clear the road. Unfortunately they left a three foot hard packed berm across my access road. It took us about 45 minutes to dig it out.
Might get some rain today, but it won't keep me from grilling Andouille sausage later.
The January thaw is here, and I've got yardwork to catch up on. It'll be nice to spend part of the day outside in the sunshine without having to put on 3 layers of clothes to stay warm.
The last couple of days the roads have been full of people driving ten miles an hour under the speed limit, right down the center line, blocking both lanes.
The appraiser is supposed to be out appraising the house we want to buy this afternoon. Hoping it comes up to price. If the appraisal is too low, we're done.
"January Thaw" I WISH!!!!!!!!!
What?!?!?! Just because it's 69° and sunny at the moment
It has been a totally strange day. First, I had to check out a sale at a new outlet store, and they had all kinds of cool and wonderful things on sale. Then, on the way home, there is this busy intersection that is staked out by some black guy that sells Krispy Kreme donut coupons, get a dozen for $5. I LOVE Krispy Kremes, but the dude has never been on that corner since about Christmas. But he was there today so I got two coupons. Then I went to my doctor to pick up a painkiller prescription. Take it to the Walmart pharmacy where they tell me it would be an HOUR before it would be ready. So I drive the four blocks home and ate lunch. Went back, now ever since I have been getting this prescription fropm Walmart it ended up costing me a $45 co-pay. She rang it up and said $9.80. I said "what?", did they get the prescription right? Pull out the bag, and yep, it was what I had always gotten there for $45 before. I can only guess my co-pay from my Medicare went way, way, down. How many times does THAT happen in your life?
-18F, but the wind died a bit. The real feel is now -35F
Just mounted a Simmons .22 Mag scope to the 10/22. Hope it does well enough for plinking and general malfeasance. It's a budget scope, but we'll see.
Feel like being patient finally paid off- got a new 10/22 (with standard 10rd rotary mag),BX-25 mag and scope for a scootch over $200 all told.
Now, it's time to release the kraken with some more BPR, Winchester Super-X and Aguila Interceptors.
