    Please!!!

    You people are NOT ignorant!

    It's (usually) "THAN"

    Not "THEN:

    Example: He has more experience

"than" you. We went for a walk,

    "THEN" we had a coffee.

    Get it???

I'm not a "grammar nazi" as has been suggested, but

sometimes I do get my spittle up and get very annoyed when

people ignore the most basic of grammar convention.

Do we need to give the "antis" even MORE ammunition

against us? Do we need to appear more uneducated than

    we actually are?

Just my rant. Sorry if I offended anyone.

You didn't have to read this, either.

    Your choice.

Mnemonic devices (memory tricks) help define one from another.
For instance, in this case... "thEn" is a timE, while "thAn" is a compArison.

    A way to check would be a sentence like;
"A car is bigger then/than a skateboard." ... You're not talking about time with an "e", so it must be the comparison with an "a".

Correct: "A car is bigger than a skateboard."

I'm a mnemonic nut... it's the only way I can remember half the stuff I should know. :D

"It's" is always the contraction of "it is". Always.
"Its" shows ownership like "hers, his, ours"...you don't use an apostrophe in any of those. :)
