Ever get bored with the same ole shooting range scenerio? First make sure you adhere to all the normal safety stuff. Get your video camera and place it down range. set up a few milk jugs, or whatever. focus the camera in on the jug(s) this wors best at least 100 yds. run the camera, pop the jugs with your favorite fodder. the effect is very good. just be sure not to damage your camera. If you have a good quality set up the slow motion shots can be spectacular.

Done it, fun stuff. I've taped a pretty dramatic death of Barney the dinosaur. I also was able to see from a different angle a safety hazard that I wouldn't have otherwise seen, now I know something not to do again.

I expected the bullets to penetrate a certain piece of steel, using the effect on heavier steel as a comparison. What I saw on the film was a nasty bright flash of massive sparks flying back towards the shooters, probably the target metal. Definitely won't try that again.
