Who "exactly" was "Glndewer Micheal"
Hint; WW2, decorated.
Dan,I think ya got us,I give up.
Glyndewer Micheal was a mentally ill vagrant from Whales England
who commited suicide. the British government took his unclaimed body from the mourge, dressed him up like an officer and planted false documents on him then released his body from a submarine off the coast of Spain during optimal tides so that his body would wash-up on a pre-determined beach. The plan worked perfectly and the false documents fell into the hands of german intellegence. It was false plans for the allied forces to land on the island of Crete. The Germans took it hook, line and sinker and sent an armoured div. to Crete while the allies landed on the island of Sicily in 1943.
A year after the war they added to his to his gravestone the honorable mention of his service to the war.
I knew the allies had sent misinformation the Germans, but I never knew HOW they did it. Those sneaky SOB's. -UR.
that is great information.....
I would have never thought of it like that
I do remember hearing about that but had no idea what his name was. Good trivia Dan.
