Yea count me out too, $340 for my Finn M39 about broke me. I can't see paying $700 for a russian 91/30 no matter how nice it is.

While the price is just way too high, I so like a matching serial number bayonet with it. How hard are those to come by?

Pretty cool, but I could buy 6-7 91/30's for that price!
  11. Looks like a Tula Hammer cartouche on the stock.

If you absolutely, positively feel you gotta own an unissued Mosin, your best bet is to look for a Romanian M44. They were producing them simultaneously with the SKS in the 1950s, but were warehousing the Mosins and issuing the SKSes to the army. I was incredibly lucky (frankly, I took advantage of a retagging screwup at my favorite gun shop) and got one for $99, but the going rate for one around here is $150. Look for a 1954 year stamp and the Romanian seal. Those are the ones that went straight into storage.

No shellac, I like it. I've allways felt they didn't shellac them untill after WW2.
$700 Nah, too much for me.$300-400 maybe.
  15. I picked up a couple of years ago a pair of m44's in the mummy wrap for $50. They weren't shellaced and the date was 1946 (IIRC). I will put up a pic if the one that I unwrapped when I get home from work next week. They are out there if you search

You guys are way too spoiled in US. I just bought laminate stock Mosin with all matching numbers, do not even know production year ( it is still in the mail) for 249$ (Canadian). That is a reality here in Canada. Snipers are 700 to 800$ firm.
  17. $249 canadian? that's like the same as $90 here, right? jk!

Noticed Classic Arms has round-receivered Izzy 91/30s for $69.95.

Or BDT 4,854.53 in Bangladeshi Takas...

Or ZMK 338,279.32 in Zambian Kwachas...

Plus shipping, title, tax and license...
