Can anyone explain why some stocks from CMP have no marks at all? Are they "correct" original GI issue?
  2. Are you 100% sure there are know marks??

The later replacements didnt have marks and if you look at the are at rear of the trigger guard some it will be a partial V. Smaller than a Winchester but just slightly off from a regular SA. Hope this helps. Rick B

Thanks,Rick. That makes sense. I have a mixed SA made in 1954 with a 1961 barrel. The stock has a big back porch like a H&R and the trigger guard cut is like you said. There are no rebuild mark on the metal.
