Using 1911 mags in a Hi-point pistol or carbine .45 ACP

Two ways to go:
1. You modify a 1911 mag so it will fit in a Hi Point.

2. You modify the Hi-Point so it will take 1911 magazines.
This involves a specially machined piece, I got mine from Thingmeister fabrications for $30. There is a different but similar mod for the rifle. Thingmeister shows the rifle mod being done here, but this isn't the refined piece he sells.:

what did he do with the piece of aluminium? the video skipped to an assemblied carbine. using 1911 mags in a Highpoint .45 carbine makes them a lot more attractive. I have a 1911 30 round drum mag that would be real handy in a carbine.
