I've got a Dane from CMP with a VAR barrel with a M stamped on it. The rifle also came with a national match op. rod. This was the second Dane I received. The first one didn't have a M on the barrel. Does the M stand for Match? The rest of the rifle, besides the o.r. and M stamped barrel, is all USGI. The accuracy is unbelievable. Thanks, troy h

The M is a inspectors mark I think. The NM op rod is a CMP replacement due to the one that was on it probabaly not functioning properly during a test. You did good and the Danes are the best thing going anywhere. I try to tell folks how acurate they are and so cheap fromt he CMP. Enjoy it besides no one knows its a Dane unless you tell them ,,Rick B
