How do I clean my Walther P38? Can I disassemble to clean it? If so, how do I break it down?

    Hi vikesreds,

Go to the P.38 Forum at www.p38forum.com and look under Tech Info. That should fix you right up :)

    Best regards,

    I have done this , but has been 2 - 3 years .

Look for a leaver to rotate or something that slides .

After you find that , it is pretty easy to field strip .

If you have no luck , email or PM me & I will get it out & see if I can remember how to take it apart .

Now a Broom Handle Mauser is a different can of worms . It is like a Chinese puzzle . :-(

It is very easy to strip. It has a huge takedown lever on the forward left side of the frame. Remove the magazine. Pull back the slide until you can rotate the lever clockwise. Rotate the lever, then ease the slide forward, and it will come off. I used to have a P1.

Klaus, why did you get rid of the P1? I'm planning on ordering one real soon.

I had a friend who wanted it. I still have plenty of pistols.
