Just wanted to share another video on the SiOnyx Aurora that I just uploaded...
On SiOnyx's web sight they show it being Weapon's Mountable as a Clip-On device in front of a Daytime Optic, Anyway I wanted to play around and see if that was actually feasible and share the results (Spoiler... It's not as Feasible as SiOnyx shows on their Website!).
That depends on what you're looking for... Currently the Aurora Sport is running $399 and the Regular Aurora (that was tested with 223/5.56) is running $799 and the Explorer's Edition is running $999. Only the latter two are rated for 223 and only the last one comes with a Picatinny rail mount.
If you're just looking for an Observation Tool IMO the Sport is better than any Gen 1 monocular I've seen and depending on the circumstances encroaching on Gen 2 so it's a lot of bang for the buck. As for a weapons solution for the $1k Explorer's edition and the limitations of it's mount I would Pass, and at $799 for the regular model I would spend more and go with a Gen 2 scope.
Also with either the sport or regular I would order a separate charger and several spare aftermarket batteries (Generic), and a cheaper 940nm illuminator to get the most out of it, so figure another $75-100 in add on stuff for when it's really dark out and to give you more than just a couple of hours of run time.
If you're looking for the cheapest workable solution for an NV scope out to around 100 yards I would skip the Aurora and go with a Sightmark Photon RT 4.5x Sport model (the cheapest version of the RT).. They can be found for around $450 and have a good built in 850nm illuminator.
There are several other videos on the channel that go into a lot of this in greater detail.
EtherialOne, did you test it on you own? After some searching, I have found some great manufacturers of night and thermal vision scopes, like AGM ( https://www.agmglobalvision.com/ ). But for now, I'm now quit sure about the prices, cause their prices look a little bit higher than average, and talking of quality, hm, it's top-notch military stuff, for any military or hunting purposes.
