Welp they say even a bad day at the range is better than a good day at work 
Took the NEF 223 and 45/70 barrel to sight them in at 100 yards and test some re-loads...and the mauser to play with.
got the 223 sighted in....then mixed up the reloads ....ended up with holes all over the place...I had 6 diffren powder charges with 2 diffrent powders......so it was amazining at 100 yards how much that changes things
The 45/70 loads Im happy to say I got just about maxed out.....in the light NEF rifle they kick like one bad pigglet......and subsaquently pattern like a riot gun
The Mauser...I have no idear were I was hitting...the gun went boom...dirt behind target flew up and the target showed not a single hole after 15 rounds......so I gave up
Guess I need to get some more range time or a 75 rd drum for the mauser
Or sitck to elaphant hunting at 25 yards or less
