1755 fps with a 250 grn projectile sounds like a wrist snapper !

I cranked out 600 rounds of 40S&W, today, using Unique 7.0 grains under Montana Gold 165 grain FMJ bullet. Zombie "medicine."

That's why my barrel be ported, so I don't give myself a bloody nose with the muzzle flip. Or even worse......

I am surprised that the guy in the video didn't go down! Owww!!!

I made more 40 S&W ammo, today. I will finish up on those tomorrow, then start making 9MM ammo for the "plinking" gun.

I am trying to fill all my empty ammo cans from the Summer shooting sessions. It has been raining a LOT this October, which was unusual, so it gave me a head start on my reloading schedule. At this rate, I will be back to making 10MM ammo, with plated bullets for plinking, in a week.

I think I may need to make some more .357 Magnums, and a bunch of .223 in the month of November.

I hear rumors of ruger gonna maybe make a 10mm long slide.
well I got 200 pieces of Brother Bobs 30-06 brass all ready to load.
I have a really accurate recipe for my hunting rifle.
the only snag is I am not impressed with the terminal performance of the bullet.
so back to square one.
I have been slowly poking around some loads for the 45 acp's with a 200gr boolit but haven't settled on a powder just yet.
something between bulls-eye and green dot is looking like the final answer.
I have shot both and they are about equal but there is more in there to get, 700-x and American select are up next.

Nothing here today, I did order in 500 of the Hornady 30 cal 150 gr SST's once I get my bench up and running again I will crank out an ammo can (30 cal) worth.

Have you tried Hodgdon Titegroup for the 45AUTO?

oh yeah.
unique,800-x,bulls-eye,clay's, green-dot,
231, and a couple of others.
I'm just working my way around the bunch looking for a place to land.
most work alright, others I see little problems with, some don't have quite the accuracy.
that and I just have the powders here [the bullets are free] so I'm playing around a bit.

Yes, Title Group is my go to powder for 45 cap. However, I use 4.0 grains of CFE Pistol for my .380. I just loaded 150 rounds of .380 yesterday, and for some reason the CFE works better in those than the Tite Group.

titegroup gets weird in small spaces.
put 6 grains in a 308 case under a 150gr. cast bullet and it is as happy as a clam.
seat a 115gr 9mm bullet down .020 too deep and your in for a world of hurt.

I worked up a new 40S&W load, today, using 165 grain JHP bullets from Montana Gold. I found that they gave me a very nice 5/8" group at 10 yards, shooting from a standing position without a rest. Coincidentally, it is powered by the same 7.0 grains of Unique that I was loading under the 165 grain FMJ Montana Gold bullet. These were all fired from a Glock 22 GEN 3.

This would not normally surprise me, except that the JHP bullet is 0.035 inches longer than the FMJ bullet, and the load was compressed under the FMJ bullet. I was concerned that the deeper seating of the hollow point would cause an over pressure for the same MAX COL of 1.135". I reduced the MAX load in the book by 10%, and then worked up from there. I was pleasantly surprised that the same powder charge worked for both bullets, AND the hollow point was more accurate.

tumbling my 10 mm brass. going to stuff them with Longshot and 200 gr. bullets.
my favorite .45 cap powder is Unique. I used to load 7.4 gr & a 200gr bullet for 1000 fps. I toned it down to 7.0 for a little less wear & tear on my pistols.

Nothing, in the process of moving my reloading stuff from the Arms Room to my new shed !............

Been out cleaning up my shop most of the morning,I've been working on too much stuff at the same time and it got rather messy.
Took a break from cleaning and separated 1000 pcs of LC 223 once fired brass that arrived a couple days ago. I like to separate it by the year on the head stamp.

Yeah, mine had double doors like that but I figured it made it too easy to break in. So I slightly modified the kit, and put in a single steel door.
