Well fudge! Looks like all me small rifle primers are #41 well duh. 🙄 As up until now it's only been 5.56NATO I've reloaded for. Oh well now it's load 5 .300BO starting loads really at the lowest charge of H110 and see what happens.

I usually powder coat but decided to go old school for an old school bullet in the 357 and 38 spl.
Made some pan lube for my cast 160 grain bullets for the 357. First attempt.

My procedure.
14 oz Cocoa Vaseline, 18 oz Gulf canning wax(Parrafine), 3tblspoons STP.
Melt paraffin at 220 degrees. Stir in Vaseline. Shut off burner after Vasoline gets melted.
Let it get down to about 180 then stir in STP.
Stirr occasionally till it is all mixed. Then when it gets to 150 pour in a plastic pan. Let sit over night. Put in freezer for a out 5 min then nocked it out of the pan. Cut up and put in bags.
Will follow up on the lubing and sizing. Then let you know how this works as A revolver lube.

The original recipe calls for regular Vasoline. I just used what I had. Smells nice anyway. Also have seen versions of this recipe using mineral oil instead of petroleum jelly.

I primed about 180 new 45 Super cases in anticipation of my police trade in .45 S&W M&P pistol arriving. can't wait to develop some .45 Super loads for it!

Well speaking of priming I at least found my errant RCBC hand priming tool.
Now I have around 500+ cases to prime maybe tomorrow.
I'm also tempted to prime and load all the 5.56 brass I have ready. But I've gotta inventory all my remaining 68gr BTHP Match.

Pan lubed the 160 grain bullets that I cast the other day. The mould makes them almost .360 So sizing them to .359. where my ,357 Taurus likes them best.

Just finished tumbling about 50 rounds of 45/70, 120 rounds of 300 BO and 200 rounds of 9mm. I need to finish getting them prepped and start stuffing them.

Finally got around to loading some of my home cast Lyman #358311's . (160 grain 357 round nose.) That I also made a pan lube and lubed them with it.(see above).
Doing 12 in 38 special with H-Universal. 4.2, 4.4, and 4.6. And 12 in .357 with H-110. 15.7, 16.0, and 16.3.
Going to try and get it tomorrow to test them in the Taurus 66, 6inch.

Been a while since I ran up a load in the .357. It was the gun I learned to load with. It had never seen a factory cartridge since the first 50. I bought them to check the gun and get brass, to start loading with.

Thanks to the Originator of this thread, Gandog56 (RIP), for getting me started. Walking me thru my first loads. It has been a rewarding hobie. Who would a thunk that I would go so far, from loading berry's bullets with a recipe given to me by him. To making up my own alloys, casting, tumble and pan lubing, then on to powder coating. Making my own lubes. Recycling range lead and brass scrap. Loading lead in rifle. And so forth. It has been a great and rewarding. adventure.
But most of all it has given me time spent with my family, and given me several new friends.

Guess what guys. No leading. With the home spun lube.

Best group of 4 standing braced against a pole, 1.5 inches at 21ft. Worst group 4". Discounting 5 fliers (probably due to my technique) in the 11 groups I shot.
A fellow at the club was set up, so he shot the remaining 6 rounds thru his Chronograph for me. 1242 fps average velocity. Shot variation of 7 fps. So I would say good as it gets.At least for me.

I retrieved 5 sacks of range lead yesterday and am looking forward to casting ingots and then bullets or fishing weights with them.

cast about 200 .45 200 gr. swc and about 400 175 gr. .40 swc bullets out of the two new Lee molds I bought. powder coated them all and loaded up 100 of the new .40 bullets in 10mm brass.

Just got the new primer feed parts in for my Hornady LNL AP. The old feed rail looked like a pretzel where I had tweaked it this way and that to try and get the danged thing to prime reliably. I called Hornady and they sent my an entire new primer feed free of charge. I call that customer service. I have 100 5.56 casings cleaned, lubed and ready.

Putting together 150 Rounds of 9mm with 124 grain X-treme bullets over 4.6 Grains of HP-38 and then hopefully I'll get to the 100 .30 Carbine

Just completed loading 50 rounds of .40 S&W with 180gr Hornady FMJ-FP over 6.0gr of CFE Pistol. These work great in my Glock and Sub-2000.

Catch up update time Loaded 10 test cartridges for my .300BO using 150gr Hornady SP flat base and 155gr AMAX. Why those weights? Extra bullets and just curious as to performance. Using 15grs of H110.
Going to see what a load on the warmer side will do in my AR pistol function and accuracy wise.

.45ACP Loaded up 5rds per each bullet style of 230gr Hornady XTP and HAP using Ramshot Silhouette from 7.0 to 7.7grs in 0.1gr increments. Yesterday. Working up a matching load for my S.A. Inc. Range Officer/Velociraptor project.

Today, loaded up 10rds of Hornady 150gr Interlock SP in .30-06 cases using 55.5grs of Win.760 powder.
This is a mid range load for my Remington 1903A3. Possibly for hunting.

I still have not been able to set up my reloading room. I hope to get to it this winter. I’m wanting to find some heavy RN bullets for my 308 (I’m thinking 180-200gr). I want to hunt with open sights one of these seasons, and I’d like to have a real thumper of a load for woods hunting.

I sorted range scrap today by hand for about an hour, picking out complete bullets and large lead chunks. My next step is to submerge the remainder of the scrap in water so the wood chips and dirt will float to the surface so it can be removed. Then, I'll let the remainder to dry on a tarp.
