I gave away some ammo. That’s like negative buying, right? LOL. Gave the son-in-law a federal 22lr 550 bulk pack. Pretty old ammo, it had $18.37 for a price. He has been shooting more than I have, Was down to some crappy ammo that wasn’t feeding well in his 10/22 at all, so I gave him some that I know works.
You overpaid. I bought literally tens of thousands of rounds for $8.88 for a 550 round "Bulk Pack" back in the late 90's. So much in fact, that I'm still shooting it. I can't imagine paying upwards of $60.00 bucks a brick today for .22's. Then walking away thinking I got a, "good deal". Insane.

In fact, now I'm down to my last 100 pounds worth.

I have a bunch of golden bullets that were under 10$ for 500, but only one 22 I own likes them. Everywhere else the are last resort to keep shooting. The federal was decent priced at under 20$ around 2010.
I don’t mind supplying him with some decent bulk ammo from time to time. He will inherit whatever I have left over anyways. These days I don’t worry about buying ammo much. I should pick up some 30-06, don’t have much of that, but rarely ever shoot that. The gun was sold to me cheap, New in box. Shooting buddy won it. Everything else I have enough for a good while.

Guys reminding me gotta check out CCI 22 mags at Wally World. Used to pay $10.95 but that price may be long gone. They wanted $10.53 per box of 12 gauge for my Trap shooting a few months back. Pays to reload these days if ya got the set up. Varmint season on the way. No regrets with the Ruger American over the years. That Vortex Crossfire was a great purchase at $129.

I saw Blackhorn 209 in stock so picked up two bottles of that. Added in a pack of the Hornady 290gr FTX bullets I like for hunting since I was paying for shipping anyway. Powder Valley didn't have a Blackhorn breech plug for the CVA rifle, so I went over to Midway for that and added in an AR-15 block while I was there.

Oh, if we're talking about stupid ammo decisions:

When I was 18 I was visiting the LGS where I would later make my first handgun purchase. I needed a spam can of 7.62x39 - I wanna say they had them for 39 bucks or so for 700 rounds. While the owner was getting a can for me he tripped over a belt of .50 cal hanging out of a big bucket. The bucket was full, and overflowing with belted ammo, and there was a full can beside it with a little tail poking out.

He cussed, and offered to sell it to me for pennies a round. I told him I didn't know what to do with it and he said, "Hell, decorate your room with it, decorate a Christmas tree, wear it like Rambo, I don't care as long as I don't have to keep tripping on it and you can get it out of here TODAY."

I should have done it. He was practically giving them away, and at far less than they were worth THEN. I could have made a fortune just a couple of years later when they were 50 cents a round. If I had them today I could pay off my car loan.

that ain't no kidding.
their primers go for more than most hunting rounds.

got a new sling for the same rifle today.
i'm thinking i should have bought a pound of the I-4831 i seen today, couldn't find a price on it though and that aggravates me.
i mean the discount store took the time to price every individual candy bar on a 60' wide shelf, how hard is it to put a sticker on two bottles of powder?

GUN SHOW UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS POST: At the gun show this weekend someone was selling 50 BMG for $8 a round. Also picked up a Yugo Mauser entirely Cyrillic marked. First one I've seen in the wild. Almost bought a de-milled Tommy gun, too, but while trying to justify the purchase I ended up missing out.

I just bought a new Caldwell rest, "The Rock". I haven't been able to try it yet.
Picked up a torque screwdriver. Just can't assemble without it.
Been loading up on 22 rimfire ammo, couple bricks of Tac-22, brick of Eley Team and Eley Tenex.
Just trying to get ready for nice weather I suppose.
