I Have to say the Garand is still in service in many places. Also market price is no longer. I see Garands sitting at shows every show for $800.00 there not selling but to a few who can't go through the courses or someone that wants one for a reason like special serial numbers or one to complete there collection. CMP flooding the market has seriously brought prices way down on Garands. So yes it is hurting the collecting end of our hobby. Flooding the market can help those in need of parts but hurt the value severly as more people are out there lieing about original rifles they have and trying to get top dollar on them. Rick B

Oh yes I forgot wait to see what that 03 you have is worth in a year along with how many Originals will be up for sale hahaha original yah ok.
I gaurantee you that the shows will be flooded by summer with 1903's for sale at sickining prices and passed off as Original. Then tell me what good this s all doing? Being able to buy 16 rifles a year is ridiculous.
I liked collecting the old way and wish it was back. Rick B

I have to aggree on that many of us discuss if they dont sell them now the Anti Gunners may shut them down and destroy them leaving them with no income. Shame is we even talk like this we should all be writing once a week to get the upper government officials to see this. More than 3/4 of America owns guns and listening to the media you would think only bad guys and 5,000 sportsman had them. Damn Shame,, Rick B

I have had two for sale for a month with cartouched stocks and all parts correct except the barrels and asking less than the show prices. They are not selling unless you have a specific buyer that is not a memebr of CMP. They have been at a gun shop getting full exposure everyday. The owner said everyone looks them over and ooooo and aahhhs but wont buy them. The market is shot on them in most places. I have had a few ask if they could by my rifles when I go to sell but they want to pay CMP price for them. I put $200.00 stocks on them and paid for parts to get them correct for there time period. There not CMP rifles off the rack mixed up. Some people will buy a junker and spend $600.00 on Ebay gettting parts so I dont get it.. Rick B

At that price no reason to go to the CMP but allot of folks say they are spending $800.00 when they could get one for almost half that. Once you are a member you can buy any time you feel the urge also. All of my CMP Garands were excellent. The 03's now that isa differnt story. Rick B

I have gotten them in the best condidtion available. Original condiition. Why do you beleive paying for a 60 year old rifle in reparked condition is better? Do you marry a woman for the looks only and not the brains? Many cars are sleepers with 671 blowers and nitrus. They'll eat up a $56,000 car. SO again what was you're point about the $800.00 rifle? Also the CMP will take the rifle back if you are picky. Rick B
