What is best scope to put on this, nothing fancy, live in CA now, hunt in Spring Green area of WI.

    Thanks

plenty of choices out there. Nikon prostaff and Burris are good fromwhat I've heard. Also Redfield is back. put a Bushnell XLT on my 06 and has proved very satisfactory. Pretty reasonable too

I'm assuming this is either a .22 or a pistol cal. lever action? If so, I would stay in the 2.5-4x range on power. I've had very good luck with Sightron optics, but there are many good options. Try contacting gr8fuldoug here on G&G, he can help you out and has some great deals.

    Starclipper,

Both mauser9 and toolman have noted some good brands. I would agree with toolman on magnification range and suggest you stay with a duplex reticle.

If you prefer a 3-9x42, consider this Nitrex TR1 scope at Natchez. Its basically a Weaver Grand Slam, same optics, same internals, made in same Japanese plant and box will have Nitrex by Weaver on it. Nitrex brand is discontinued, so price is heavily discounted, but its warranty will be handled by Weaver.
Have a couple of Nitrex scopes and quite pleased with them. Its a very good buy for a nice scope. Add about $18 for Natchez shipping charge.
