    Sometimes I wonder.

  6. I reckon I've pondered it a time or two.

  7. I've thought about it a time or two myself.

Exactly the point. Just spinning our wheels. Feels like talking just to hear the sound of our voices.

I was going to start another thread, but since you guys are pondering the existential implications of gunownership in post-modern America...

Chuck Taylor: Does the Emperor Have any Clothes?

Chuck Taylor attempts to present himself as an unbiased expert. Taylor is just as biased as Marshall and Sanow, but since most folks agree with Chuck (including me), they fail to notice his bias at first. Taylor has been "caught" several times in print for publishing incorrect material (including tech. specs. in one recent article). I am not qualified myself to evaluate his expertise, but that's not a good sign.

What does this angst-ridden bunch think?

P.S. Just go SHOOT something, for Pete's sake!

what about Ayoob, Cooper, Carmichael, Wilson among others? I think they are all trying to make a living in their chosen profession. Yeah, they let their mouths overrun thier butts I'm sure, but we all like that paycheck. I lump themk into the same category as Rush and this site. Entertainment.
Too hot to shoot right now.

That's my problem too. It's even too hot to reload, since so much of the stuff is in the garage. If I didn't have other outlets for my shooting hobby, other than shooting itself (handloading, net, etc.), I would have to get a second job to keep myself in ammo and components.

The Greatest Single Lesson that I Have Learned in My First Full Year as a "Full-Time Gun Owner/Shooter":
Buy the gun that you want when you can afford it. You will spend more on ammo (even with reloading) than on guns. You will also spend more money trying to customize Brand X than you would have spent on the gun you really wanted.

yeah, I reload in my non climate controlled basement, other than the dehumidifier (which makes it hotter) I guess the best time would be early in the A:M. Fishing seems to have my attention mostly lately. But, come August, I'll be sweating and swatting skeeters with my .22 after tree rats. Funny where our priorities lie.
