Here is an oldie, a Winchester Model 74 made in 1942, it is the 22LR version not the .22S version. Somewhere along the line the Mossberg side-mount scope base and scope were fit to the rifle. The rifle is a semiautomatic repeating rifle that feeds through the feed tube in the buttstock. The stock is walnut and has a nice grain.

I've never owned a Winchester-74 but shooters love them. "Reliable and Accurate" are the words mostly used to describe them.

one of my Ex s had a 74. it was her father's. I took it to a turkey shoot and won 3 turkeys' with it. then they started giving me free drinks and I didn't win anymore.
Oh man, that sounds like a truth bomb that I would have been intimately familiar with a few decades ago.
Glad that's all history.
