Sorry Trapfreak,
Been looking at more shotguns, the Mossberg 935 is still in the running. Looking for a 3~3.5 " heavy hitter for steel.

Picked up a Winchester SX2. First shocked (pleasantly ) to see Mfg By FN Belgium on the BBL. Winchester, Hey

It is almost the exact same gun as the Browning Gold.

The one I handled was black. It had a "soft touch" finish. You will recognize this as the coating on the knobs of your dash, cell phone, lap top etc. A very nice finish. I wonder how it would hold up to brush busting while chasing a big red leg cripple mallard?

I spoke to a few people with first hand shooting experience. They are nothing but satisfied. All mentioning the soft recoil even of the 3.5's

Price: I've quoted 3 places,,, $719,,,$734,,,& $754. Makes me wonder what the mark up is on these? Hey, we all have to make money. I like to buy from one store though. They would be the $734 price tag. 'Nuff 'bout price.

Any one shot this gun? I guess I have, I shot a Browning Gold

Thats OK I have the picture of the SX2 (Sporting) saved in my favorites. If I ever get an extra $1050 I will own it for trap shooting. I go to the site and drool occasionally.

Well, I went and did it today.
While I was sopposed to be working. I stopped by Gander Mtn. They had a 12 ga 3" version on clearance (New) it was on clearance because it was not the new Dura Touch stock, just plain black synthetic. No problem here I didn't get too excited over the finish any way. The 3.5" capable gun would have been cool but not worth the extra couple of hundred bucks.

It was normally $699. On clearance for $649 There was another $50 price break on top of that. Also, if you filled out a credit card app ( they approved in 15 min on the spot) they took an additional 5% off. Also, there is a free leather jacket promo going on. Also I'll get a kick back of $25 for "points" accumulation on the card. The guy who rang me up also put the 5% gun discount on the 5 boxes of slugs I originally went in for. If that's not enough, I have an additional 10% certificate..AND, got a free Gander Mt. hat.

I'd say a pretty good shopping day! Best part is, I'll pay the plastic off when the bill comes in.

Comes with Full, Modified, Imp Cyl.

I like them. they are "notched" on top so you can tell what's in. I have to take my REM choke all the way out of the gun.

They throw nice patterns (my brothers Browning Gold Hunter does at least)
