Hi all, first time posting on here even though I prowl around a lot. I am looking for a complete A2 upper with carry handle and front sight post with a 24" barrel. I basically want it to look the same as a stock A2 with the longer barrel, birdcage flash hider and bayonet lug.
I have only found 1 and it is called the DPMS 24 from the Florida Gun Works. It is exactly what I want but I have heard some horror stories about FGW. I am scared to buy one from them. I have not found anything else in 24" except bull barrels. Does anyone know of any place else sells these except FGW???
Thanks for any help, Mike Kise

You'll be hard pressed to find it somewhere else. Most 24" barreled uppers will be designed for target or varmint, with heavy barrel profiles and flat top receivers.

I may be misinterpreting, but the standard A2 has a 20" barrel. You're definitely set on a 24"?

Your best bet is to build one yourself. It's not that hard.

got beat to the post! 24" H-BAR uppers are available from a few places, and some barrel makers have 24" barrels with a standard sight block, pre ban or post ban with recessed crown, or fluted H-BAR profile. ChaZam gave you a good link, M&A would be another for kits, but you'll get a better quality barrel for the money from model 1 sales unless you go directly to Shaw and order one.

I would vote for building it, either doing it yourself or having someone do it if you dont have the tools.

It is far easier to get what you want that way...

Although the tools are not much to just build an upper with.
