EDC for big hands

Hello all,

looking for some tailored thoughts that the generic “top 5 edc” on YouTube doesn’t satisfy...

I have big palms and short fingers. A XL carhartt glove is super tight around my wrist and palm but my fingers get about 2/3 of the way into the slots. Kind of fat kid hands.

Anyway, I’m looking for a EDC that fits my paws... Problem I have with a lot of the P-model recommendations is that the grip is so small that my last two fingers are left gripping air which feels really unnatural and dangerous.

I fired the Glock 19 and Sig 365 and 229 and really wasn’t a fan of any. The Glock19 felt like the way a BMW drives.. no cushion and not a smooth ride. Felt every slide, and just generally came across as a very raw/harsh gun.

365 + 229 were a bit better but was surprised by the recoil on both. Also given their size and price point I’d just as soon carry my CZ SP-01 Tactical (which I love) and call it a day..

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

If it works for you then carry it. Seriously we got the freedom, so far, to carry what we want to.
Explore some carry options for your pistol and have fun.

Well that's what I was going to do as well but then when my brother was buying a gun - the gunshop made a interesting point - "Don't carry your baby every day. If you shoot anything, it goes to the police as evidence and you'll never get it back." So I'm looking for something with a relatively lower price point than my CZ and since I'm at it, might as well look into the carry options instead of full-size.

I carried a 1911 for 40+ years, and had no intention to change until I got the opportunity to shoot a Sig P220SAO. Same control functions as the 1911, but less recoil, and a bit more comfortable for "my" hands. I carry the "baby" every day, because I have two of them.
