I am wanting to know what kind of scope and mounts that will work with this? I am watching several on E-bay but am afraid to bid in fear of gettin one that wont work on my rifle. I am want to get a Mossberg brand like you could get when you bought the gun new. Any info would be great!!

The 46b doesn't have the standard .22 cut grooves in the top of the receiver. But it does have two screws on the receiver that can be used to mount an adapter like this..

With that mount, you can use regular Weaver style rings. Here's the link the one Numrich (gun parts) sells.. Side Scope Mount, Weaver Style

It's not cheap, but it's simple..

You could also have a gun smith cut grooves for standard size .22 scope mounts, but that would be more expensive than the Gun Parts Mount, and a $15 set of Weaver style rings..

Either way, it can be done.. Good luck, and when you're done be sure to show us some photos!! Also, the link given earlier to Havlin Sales is one to keep!! Havlin is the place to go for all things when it comes to old Mossberg .22!! Great people and VERY helpful!! They also stand behind what they sell!!

I should have looked at Swedesrus's link to Havlin.. They have the same mount I showed, but for $10 less than Gun Parts!!

Again, Havlin will set you up correctly and will walk you through it..

About 1/4 way down the page, and they sell rings for $12 (any height) too!!

I am aware of the new mounts but I am wanting to know which of the old Mossberg scopes and mounts I need. I want to put a scope on it like you could when you bought it new. I have seen them on E-bay with the model 4 scope. It is a set 4 power scope. Nothing fancy but orginal like back then.

The old scopes look nice on an old gun, but when you look through one.. Yikes!!!

I'm all for keeping aged things original, but I've looked through old .22 scopes... Things have come a long ways.. :)

Yes I know that but man they sure look sharp!
Agreed.. But I've had some stuff that looks fantastic, but it's not practical..

All depends on what you're after.. I have several old Mossbergs (151K's and 152's) and they're a fantastic rifle, made over 50 years ago and they shoot great!!

Again, it's personal preference. I'd rather use the original peep sights than a 60 year old .22 scope, but that's me..

Mine is missing the peep sight on it also. What model works on mine? I see several on E-bay but dont know which one I need. Also do they work well, Ive never used one.
Mine has the factory type peep sights which fold or swing out. I have seen these on ebay and go for quite a bit. Mine actually have the part# stamped on them I believe.

Sometimes if you buy a old peepsight off ebay it's missing the aperture disk - got a couple like that. There are a couple guys over on the Gunboards Mossberg site that are manufacturing new apertures - I need to order a couple.
The earlier Mossbergs use the Number 4 peepsight, then they began using the S100 and S130 with different mounting screw spacing and different stock cutout, then the S330 for the Model 320/340 and 620/640 series.

This Mossberg website shows the different models, and details which sights they use - you can identify your model and which peep sights it needs.

I bought a sight from Havlin sales a while back. It is a great sight. I have since bought a Redfield 75 and the Havlin OM-22 is not needed.

If anyone is in need of a quality sight for a Mossberg that is similar sight to the S100, S130, S108 and S331 Mossberg sights I can make someone a great deal on it. PM me.
