"Size" of Hi-Point 9MM & their .45?

The Hi-Point 9MM "appears" (from photos I've seen - and that's all I've had to go by) a bit on the "small" or "compact" side (compared to the average of other 9mm's that I've seen/held). Can anyone tell me if that is True?

Also, is Hi-Point's .45 any larger (again, "on average") than "usual/normal/average"?

Thanks in advance...

Thanks Billyz ... so, just out of curiosity, in your opinion, what is suitable for concealed carry?
I carried a Para-Ord P14-45 when I was an leo, but any model of 45 in today's makers would probably work. Just check gun shops and see what looks good and feels right to you. Of course, I am no expert but just a thought

With the Hi-Point .45, weight is a consideration as well. All I'm comparing to is a full size 1911 (from Rock Island). Both firearms totally empty, magazines removed, The 1911 weighs 37.3 ounces; the Hi point comes in at 41.2. Barrel length & height of weapons are about the same; the Hi-Point Slide is about twice the width of the 1911. Fully loaded you'll have some difference because the Hi-Point has 9+1 capacity, whereas I've got 8+1 with my upgraded 1911 mags, or 7+1 if you are a classicist.

I carry an S&W M&P in either 40, 45, or 9mm (depending on my "mood").

I love shooting my brother's C9! We keep trying to jam it and can't!

It fits him great for a home defense gun, but I'd not choose it for my HD or CCW gun. $$ was/is an issue for him, and he got what he could afford, and like I said, it is a good gun.
