Picked this Ithaca 22 Magnum up at show yesterday

I was not looking at anything specific at the gunshow yesterday. This lever action caught my attention. Its an older single shot 22 magnum lever action. It uses a Martini- Henry type action. I got it for $140 and it was rare to see one of these Model 49,s in magnum. Some of you may have had one for your first 22 hunting. I may give it to one of my gran

Good little rifle. The Ithaca Model 49. I had one til somebody broke into my home a few years ago and stole it, along with others. Mine would not adjust to shoot on bullseye with the sights, and there is no provision for scoping it. But it grouped well. It preferred CCI Maximags.

At that time, Anthony Imperato's father was a designer for Ithaca. He had nothing to do with this M49 rifle, but he did design the Ithaca M72 Saddlegun. That little rifle eventually became today's Henry Model H001. Parts interchange. Cool, eh?
