I've found some old Model 10's that I want to get as that was my first police issued handgun when I entered the force. Shot 749 out of 750 with that thing and it was old when I got it...hehehe

64-3 Was introduced in 1977.

64 1970 Introduced
-1 1972 Heavy barrel
-2 1977 2" standard barrel, gas ring from yoke to cylinder
-3 1977 Same as above, for heavy barrel

Trying to narrow down the date on this smith and wesson 5 shot 32 cal. lemon squezzer revolver production number 88,4XX. I gathered from this reading that it is either 1901-1902? Does anyone know how many they were producing a year so I can figure out what year. The top of the barrel says:

SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT'D FEBY
20 XX DEC 18 XX MAY11,80. SEPT.11,83. OCT.2,83 TWO AUG.4,85

Why is the last date so far before they started production in 1888?

My book only shows that they made the .32 Safety Hammerless First Model from 1888 to 1902 and ended with serial #91417. Chances are yours was made 1902.
Not uncommon to have long past patent dates. The M1911 Colt pistol had 1897,1902, and 1905 patent dates on the slide

Looking for some info on my great granddad's .32 cal hammer less top break revolver

Don't know if it's worth much, but we found my great granddad's revolver while cleaning out my grandma's apartment. It's serial is 6 digits and starts with 2628**. It's a top break, all black hammer less. I also found .32 cal bullets in a small box with Italian language labeling on the top of the box. Could you get me any info on this piece?

Smith & Wesson .32 short

I have inherited a S&W .32 short Five shot revolver. I do have some information on the gun but I have not figured out to post a picture on this site yet. Sorry, but I am trying. Hopefully someone can assist me. The number I see on the pistol is 2586XX. It's on the inside of revolver once you break gun down and it's also on the butt of hand grip. The dates that I see on very top of gun is (not 100% sure about the month)but maybe Apr. 3 I can see 1888 - Apr 9 1889 is very clear to see. The pistol is still very shiny & has a black handle or grip . It has been kept wrapped in soft cloth & in a case... Please help

Not sure of the exact date of manufacture.
But they were only made from 1985-1988.
