I guess I knew that each different cartridge would sound a little different but it really struck home the other day. My son wanted to check the zero of his 30-06 at the end of a non-productive hunting day and fired a round into a piece of wood I placed in a fork of a tree trunk at about 100 yds. It made the customary CRACK-BOOM. Then I shot my 7x57 and it was noticably different, and kind of cool sounding too. More of a KA-POW sound. My son-in-laws 7 WSM is more of a CRACK-KA-BOOM. What does your gun sound like?
